How to Use DETOUR®

DETOUR® Rat Repellent Gel 8 oz. Squeeze Tube
Hand-applied precision for spot treatments and tight access. Squeeze a continuous bead of DETOUR® gel directly along rodent pathways and entry points. For heavier rat and mice traffic, apply a thick layer across entire surface.
Apply the product at the base of gaps, around penetrations, and active travel routes.
Reapply as needed to maintain a fresh deterrent barrier. No tools required; ideal for quick homeowner use, service-call applications, and spot treatments.
Prep: Wear gloves, cut the nozzle above the threads, and clean/dry the surface (non-porous works best; porous may need a second coat).
Apply a continuous ½” bead in a zig-zag where activity is seen; wrap circular objects, edge entry points inside and out, and use heavier beads on irregular surfaces.
Maintain: Inspect and reapply as needed, then reseal and store in a cool and dry place.

DETOUR® Rat Repellent Gel 10 oz. Caulking Tube
With caulk-gun delivery, the DETOUR® 10oz. caulking tube handles long runs and high-volume jobs seamlessly. Load into a standard gun an apply consistent beads around pipe circumferences, foundation gaps, large entry and exit points, house and fence perimeters, large structures etc.
Apply at regular intervals to ensure consistent coverage. Ideal for large scale projects in residential, commercial, industrial, agriculture, or professional coverage.

DETOUR® Wire Protection Gel 11oz. Aerosol Spray
The DETOUR® Wire Protection gel offers spray coverage for broad wire surfaces and hard-to-reach voids.
The aerosol format lays down an even protective layer across engine bays, equipment housings, machinery wiring, and industrial equipment wiring with ease. Allowing fast and effective coverage over large and irregular surfaces.
Hold the can a few inches away from the surface and coat target area evenly for optimal wire protection results.
Prep: Wear gloves and eye protection, work in a ventilated area, and clean/dry the surface first.
Shake the can extremely well, remove the cap, and spray 4–6″ away until generously coated; use the attached red nozzle for deep cracks and hard-to-reach spots. Ensure entire surface is covered.
Coverage: Apply multiple layers as needed for a full protective barrier; don’t remove excess unless it’s dripping, and reapply as needed.
Storage: Cap and store between 20°F–130°F when not in use.

DETOUR® Gel Trays
The ready-to-place passive deterrent. Set the pre-filled tray flat in rat travel zones no application tools, no surface prep, no mess.
Pair with a bait or attractant to draw rodents into direct contact with the gel and reposition or replace trays as activity dictates.
The discreet, self-contained design makes it ideal for in-home-use, cabinets, pantrys, behind furniture, and more.
Setup: Wear gloves, remove the twin trays from packaging, open to expose the gel, and place gel-side up on a flat surface, use double-sided tape to secure on slippery surfaces.
Apply: Flatten bait, an attractant, or fresh food into the center of the tray to ensure rodents contact the gel, and replace the attractant as needed until activity leaves the area.
Maintain: Check trays daily or when activity is detected, replace trays once the gel layer is depleted, and relocate undisturbed trays to higher-activity areas.

DETOUR® RatTrax® Tracking Tunnel
As a monitoring and verification tool, position the DETOUR® RatTrax® tracking tunnel flat along suspected runways so rodents pass through and pick up the UV powder, then sweep the area with the included UV light to reveal tracks and confirm activity and direction.
Pairs with any DETOUR® Rat Repellent Gel format to target treatment and prove results.
Use it before treatment to locate hotspots and after to verify the area is clear. Ideal for use in residential projects, pest control inspections, food preparation facilities, and commercial facilities.
Add UV powder inside the tunnel, replace cap, and shake to coat; place bait in the center.
Remove end caps and tape the tunnel to a clean, dry surface in a suspected activity area.
After 24–48 hours, use the UV light in darkness to trace tracks back to entry points.
Apply DETOUR® gel to those entry/exit points, active areas, and inside the tunnel.
