Professional Pest Control

DETOUR® isn’t here to replace your program — it’s the exclusion-plus layer that sits between physical exclusion and lethal control. A non-lethal deterrent that makes your exclusion hold, serves the accounts where bait can’t go, and drops into the trapping and baiting workflow your techs already run.

A NON-LETHAL LAYER FOR THE MODERN IPM PROGRAM

Every PCO knows the pattern: you exclude the entry, set the stations, log the account — and three months later the rodents have chewed a fresh hole two inches from your sealant and you’re eating a callback. Exclusion blocks the gap. It doesn’t make the surface unappealing.

DETOUR® fills that gap in the program. Pharmaceutical-grade capsaicin in a weather-resistant matrix makes treated surfaces intolerable on contact, holding for 6–12 months. It doesn’t compete with your traps, stations, or exclusion hardware — it makes them work harder, and it gives your techs something in the bag for the accounts where rodenticide is off the table.

Callback Reduction & Account Retention

THE PROBLEM

Callbacks are margin killers. A tech rolls a truck, re-inspects, re-treats — all uncompensated on a recurring account — because rodents reopened an entry point or chewed adjacent material next to good exclusion work.

Worse, repeated activity erodes the customer’s confidence. Rodent accounts churn on perceived ineffectiveness, and a lost recurring account costs far more than the callback that triggered it.

THE DETOUR® SOLUTION

Treat every sealed entry and the material around it so the exclusion actually holds. Rodents that would chew a fresh opening beside your sealant hit a treated surface and turn back.

Fewer reopened entries means fewer callbacks, cleaner follow-up inspections, and a customer who sees the activity stop and stay stopped — the foundation of a retained account.

Treated exclusion point — gel applied to the material rodents would otherwise chew to reopen the seal.
ADD TO YOUR WORKFLOW
On every exclusion job, bead the perimeter of each sealed entry after the hardware goes in. It adds minutes to the visit and converts a callback-prone seal into one that holds through the contract term.

Bait-Restricted & Sensitive Accounts

THE PROBLEM

Schools, hospitals, veterinary clinics, food plants, daycares, and homes with pets or small children — a large and growing share of accounts where rodenticide is prohibited, restricted, or a liability you don’t want to carry.

On these sites techs are often limited to monitoring and mechanical control, with no deterrent tool for the surfaces and voids where they can’t place a snap trap or station.

THE DETOUR® SOLUTION

DETOUR® is non-lethal and made from food-grade components, giving you a deterrent layer for exactly the accounts where bait can’t go. Treat entry points, voids, and runways without introducing a toxicant to a sensitive environment.

It complements the monitoring these accounts already require — you’re adding active deterrence to sites that were previously monitor-only.

Bait-restricted environments — where a non-lethal deterrent covers surfaces a station can’t.
ADD TO YOUR WORKFLOW
Carry DETOUR® as your go-to for the “no bait” account. Where your program was limited to monitoring devices, add gel treatment at entry points and voids — active control where you previously had none. Always follow label directions for the site type.

Rodent-Proofing & Exclusion Sealing

THE PROBLEM

Copper mesh, sealant, hardware cloth, and door sweeps block the gap you found — but rodents are persistent gnawers. They’ll chew the wood, drywall, or foam immediately adjacent to a hard seal and reopen access a few inches over.

Exclusion addresses geometry. It doesn’t change the fact that the surface is still worth chewing to a motivated rodent.

THE DETOUR® SOLUTION

Pair every physical seal with a treated buffer around it. Run repellent gel on the material bordering the exclusion — the wood, sheathing, or trim a rodent would target next.

The hardware stops the current hole; the gel makes the surrounding surface not worth the effort. Physical exclusion and chemical deterrence covering each other’s weaknesses.

Hardware cloth and sealant with a treated buffer — the seal plus the surface around it.
ADD TO YOUR WORKFLOW
Make gel the last step of every exclusion: seal the gap, then treat a border around it before you pack up. It’s the step that stops the “they just chewed a new hole” callback two months later.

Trap & Bait Station Placement Strategy

THE PROBLEM

Traps and stations only work where rodents actually travel. When runways are diffuse — spread across a large facility or a cluttered account — devices sit off the active path and your catch and monitoring data suffer.

You can add more devices, but that raises cost and service time without necessarily putting them where the traffic is.

THE DETOUR® SOLUTION

Use deterrence and lethal control together, by design. Rodents avoid treated surfaces, so treating non-target runways and protected areas concentrates travel along the routes where your traps and stations already sit.

You’re shaping the traffic toward your monitored lines rather than hoping the devices are in the right place — cleaner data on the same device count.

Treated non-target surfaces beside a monitored station line — deterrence and devices working as one system.
ADD TO YOUR WORKFLOW
On device-heavy accounts, treat the runways you want rodents to avoid so traffic funnels toward your existing station and trap lines. Same devices, better positioned traffic, more useful inspection data.

Fleet, Equipment & Wiring Accounts

THE PROBLEM

Dealerships, equipment yards, fleet depots, and storage lots are a fast-growing commercial niche. Rodent damage to wiring harnesses on parked vehicles and equipment runs into serious money, and these clients feel the loss directly.

Most PCOs treat these as remediation accounts — respond after damage — rather than a recurring protective service they could be selling.

THE DETOUR® SOLUTION

Offer wiring protection as a billable, recurring service line. DETOUR® Wire Protection Gel coats harnesses, looms, and connector runs with a durable film that forms a physical barrier over the surfaces rodents target.

For the surrounding structure — the lot, the storage building, equipment access points — repellent gel deters entry before rodents reach the wiring. A differentiated offering competitors aren’t packaging.

Wiring protection on stored equipment — a recurring service line, not just post-damage remediation.
ADD TO YOUR WORKFLOW
Build a scheduled wiring-protection service for fleet and equipment accounts — a recurring add-on billed per unit or per visit, treated when assets go into storage. New revenue rather than reactive remediation.

Documentation, Compliance & Green Selling

THE PROBLEM

Audited IPM programs — AIB, third-party food-safety, institutional — reward non-chemical and reduced-risk controls in scoring, and require documented, defensible measures. A program leaning only on rodenticide leaves points on the table.

On the residential side, “green,” “family-safe,” and “pet-safe” are the language that closes upsells — but only if you have a product that genuinely fits the claim.

THE DETOUR® SOLUTION

DETOUR® is a non-chemical-control line item you can log in service reports and audit documentation — a reduced-risk measure that strengthens the IPM narrative auditors want to see.

It’s also a real product behind your green pitch: a food-grade, non-lethal deterrent that lets you sell “family-safe rodent control” as fact, not marketing. A differentiator on the bid and a defensible entry in the log.

Logged as a non-chemical IPM measure — audit-friendly documentation and a green-selling differentiator.
ADD TO YOUR WORKFLOW
Record DETOUR® applications as a non-chemical IPM measure in your service reports. It documents cleanly for audits and gives your sales team a concrete, defensible product behind the green and family-safe positioning.
